Born 1958,
Timi Loyal is an 8th generation circus performer. The Loyal name originated in
France
and is famous in the circus world there.
He has performed in all major circuses in the

The Loyal
family came to America in 1932. Timi’s father,
Giustino Loyal, was the world’s greatest bareback rider and performed in the
center ring of the Ringling show for 27 years. The
circus art
of bareback riding is where the sport of vaulting originated. Timi’s father was
awarded medals for high performances from the king of
Yugoslavia, the presidents of
Mexico
and France, and performed in
Berlin and
received a medal from Kernie, the right hand man of Hitler. Giustino Loyal
passed on the tradition to his son Timi and was so proud of his accomplishments
that he presented him with all his medals before he passed away.
Timi
started performing at the age of 13 at an amateur circus in
Sarasota
called Sailor Circus which was founded by his father and grandfather. Giustino
has a plaque in the circus hall of fame and is in the archives in the city of Sarasota for training many
decades of children in the circus arts. His son Timi is following in his
footsteps. He has helped train most of the great bareback riders in the
circus world today.
He has also performed in major circuses such as The Big Apple Circus,
Clyde Beatty
Cole Brothers and all major Shrine circuses. He has worked in Europe with the
Knie Circus, France Altoff horse musicals and major circuses in Italy, France,
Belgium, Germany, Austria,
and Holland. He
was the first to introduce somersaults on
galloping horses
at
Arabian Nights Dinner Theater
in Kissimmee, FL He is also famous for executing 5 somersaults on a galloping
horse in one round of a 40' circle, for somersaulting from one
galloping horse
to another through a hoop, blindfolded and with his feet tied and also full
twisting somersault from one horse to another.
Timi is now passing on his knowledge in all disciplines of
horsemanship to the new generation.
